The Spirit Can't Help Falling in Love

Can a bad movie be salvaged? Intrigued by the visuals of the massively disappointing The Spirit (2008), I edited 105 minutes of footage down to three. The new story is about a man pathetically, delusionally "in love". My version is in black, white and red with high contrast, set to Can't Help Falling in Love by Elvis.

While my bootleg functions separately from the original film, it responds to the The Spirit (2008) by providing an unromanticized vision of the protagonist: a cop with delusions of grandeur, enslaved to "love" and subject to the same rules of mortality as everyone else.

Below is DVD packaging for the new film, focusing on the graphical elements that I found interesting and the new plotline.
